I have been wanting to see this documentary for a while and finally broke down and rented it. I liked it so much I watched it twice, the second time with the commentary.
I recommend it. I would give my opinion on whether or not the little girl really does paint these painting but I don't want to ruin anything for you.
PS I love a good documentary, if you have any suggestions let me know!

I've been wanting to watch this. Good reminder!
Have you seen Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father? It's one of the best documentaries I've ever seen.
Seen it! but I heard somewhere that they found out many of the paintings are made by her dad... she is still amazing though.
You've probably already seen this, but Man On Wire is good.
Hi... I'm a lurker. Guess now I'm a commenter. We (the Spouse and I) have been on a documentary kick as of late. We watched this one a few weeks ago (by the way Netflix has an awesome selection of documentaries.)
Here's what I don't get about art. It's not about the result. It's about WHO produced this result. I mean, if that painting is worth $9000 to you and you paid that much for it, WHO actually created that result is irrelevant. Right? It looks good. You like it. You buy it.
Maybe I just don't get art. Because art is about name dropping, I suppose. Anyway.
You have to see "The Devil in Daniel Johnston" soo good.
